Wetsuits Sale
A wetsuit sale can be a great way to get a top quality wet suit at a great price. For those who do not have to have the latest style, color, or design, a great sale wetsuit will provide everything you need at a good price. This is different from buying a cheap wetsuit, which will have inferior build quality. A sale wetsuit is a top quality suit purchased at a discount.
What to Look for in a Sale Wetsuit
Purchasing a suit at a wetsuits sale is no different than paying full retail price, other than the monetary savings. The following aspects must all be evaluated to determine the quality of the sale wetsuit and match it to the environment in which you plan to use it.
Conditions Wetsuit will be used in (Thickness and Insulation)
Before purchasing a sale wetsuit and having established what you want to use it for, you need to know the conditions you will be using it in. The water temperature, amount of time you spend in the water, and frequency of transitions to and from the water all determine how thick a suit needs to be and how much insulation is required.
Thickness is measured in millimeters. Estimates range and will depend on your tolerance for cold, but the following temperatures and thicknesses can be used as rough approximations.
• 22 – 30 oC: 2 mm
• 20 – 25 oC: 3 mm
• 18 – 23 oC: 5 mm
• 14 – 18 oC: 7 mm
• 8 – 14 oC: 9 mm
• Below 5 oC: drysuit
Another important thing to keep in mind about thickness when purchasing a sale wetsuit is how much wind there will be and how often you will be in and out of the water. Windy conditions require more insulation because the wind chill factor will sap body heat. If you are in and out of the water a great deal, this can also sap body heat and require a thicker suit. Wetsuits sales are good times to purchase an extra wetsuit that is thicker or thinner if you already have a suit you use frequently, but desire something for colder or warmer weather use.
Styles
Wet suits come in a number of styles including shortjohn, springsuit (shorty), longjohn and steamer (full-length). Each has a different application, so a wetsuits sale is a great time to pick up a style to complement another suit you may have or start off with your first suit.
In the list above, suits are in order from least body coverage to most body coverage. Shortjohns and springsuits are best for warm-water and tropical applications, especially surfing. On the other end of the spectrum longjohns and full-length wetsuits are best for cooler water or full diving applications. You can find sale wetsuits in any of the varieties listed.
Regardless of the kind of suit you buy, quality is essential, which makes buying a high end sale wetsuit a better idea than buying a cheap wetsuit. Insulation, seal seams, stitching, water repulsion, zippers, flexibility, comfort and warranty will all be superior in a high end suit.
Accessories
A wetsuits sale can be a great time to find accessories. Hoods, booties, gloves, short and long sleeve vests are all accessories that can turn any high end wetsuit into a versatile wardrobe. Accessories for high end suits are likely to fit better and be more watertight than those for cheap wetsuits. Buying high accessories at a wetsuits sale can allow you to get the most out of a high end wetsuit. Mixing cheap accessories with a good wetsuit makes no sense, so treat yourself to these sale items.
